Power is the rate at which work is done. It is measured in watts, which is a unit of energy per time. For example, a light bulb that uses 100 watts of power is doing 100 joules of work every second.
Power can be used to do many different things, such as light a bulb, run a motor, or heat a room. The more power an object has, the faster it can do work.
The power of the sun is harnessed to generate electricity.
