Organic acid with the formula R-CO2H or R–COOH, R referencing to the alkenyl, aryl or alkyl, which holds a carboxyl group connected to an R-group.

Liquid which is colourless carboxylic acid used to prevent the broadening of mould within bread.
ethanoic
Liquid used for creating pharmaceuticals and plastics.
COOH group
Functional group which contains a singly bonded hydroxyl group and a carbon atom which is double-bonded to an oxygen atom.
