Wildlife Ranger

A Wildlife Ranger, often referred to as a Countryside Ranger or Park Ranger in the UK, plays a crucial role in managing and protecting natural environments and wildlife within designated areas such as nature reserves, national parks, country parks, and estates. This career involves a diverse range of responsibilities focused on conservation, education, and visitor management. Day-to-day tasks can include carrying out habitat management work, such as tree planting, path maintenance, and invasive species control, to ensure the health of ecosystems. Rangers also monitor wildlife populations, conduct surveys, and report on biodiversity, often using specialist equipment. Beyond direct conservation work, a significant part of the role involves engaging with the public.
