An Optical Engineer is like a magician of light! They design, build, and test devices and systems that use light. This could mean creating the special lenses for a camera, developing laser systems for medical operations, or even designing the fibre optic cables that carry internet signals around the world. They use their knowledge of physics and engineering to make light do amazing things. This job involves a lot of problem-solving and being really accurate. You might spend time using computer programs to design new optical parts, working in a lab to build and test prototypes, or making sure that manufacturing processes for optical devices are working perfectly. Optical engineers work on exciting projects that impact many areas of our daily lives, from how we see to how we communicate.
