A zoologist is a scientist who studies animals and their behaviour, physiology, classification, and distribution. Zoologists may work in the field, studying animals in their natural habitats, or in laboratories, analysing samples and data. Their work helps us understand animal species, protect endangered wildlife, and manage natural resources. Zoologists often work for universities, research institutes, zoos, wildlife trusts, and government organisations. Day-to-day tasks may include conducting surveys, writing reports, giving presentations, and contributing to conservation projects.
