contraception

the deliberate use of methods to prevent pregnancy during or after sexual intercourse

barrier method

a type of contraception that physically prevents sperm from reaching the egg, such as condoms or diaphragms

intrauterine devices (IUDs)

small devices inserted into the uterus to prevent pregnancy, either by releasing hormones or copper

hormonal contraception
