unicellular organism
An organism made up of a single cell, e.g. bacteria and some fungus.
cell
The basic building blocks of all living things. These are essential for life as they are capable of the many functions needed to sustain life.
tissue
A group of similar cells which work together to perform a specific function. This can be more than 1 type of cell.
organ
A group of different tissues which work together to form a particular function.
multicellular organism
An organism made up of many different types of cells, e.g. animals and plants.
