microscope

An instrument that helps us see very small objects, like cells, by making them look much bigger.

magnification

How many times larger an image is compared to the actual object.

resolution

The ability to see two objects as separate, even when they are very close together. Higher resolution gives a clearer image.

cells

The basic building blocks of all living organisms. They contain structures called organelles that carry out different functions.

electron microscope

A powerful microscope that uses electrons instead of light. It shows much smaller details than a light microscope.
