Implementation

Instructor Guidance:

Section 1: Course Recap – “What Have We Learned?”
Invite learners to recall highlights from the course: key terms, favourite activities, or “aha” moments.
Write answers on the board or flipchart. Reinforce how much they’ve covered in a short time.

Section 2: Assessment Quiz
Distribute a short quiz (10 questions – mix of multiple choice and short answer).
Purpose: check understanding, not test perfection. Reassure learners it’s okay to get things wrong—it’s part of learning.
Sample questions

  • What is financial wellbeing?
  • Why is budgeting important?
  • What’s one way to avoid bad debt?

Section 3: Financial Planning Activity – “My One-Month Money Plan”
Provide a guided worksheet where learners fill in:

  • Estimated income
  • Expected expenses (food, transport, phone, etc.)
  • Any savings goal
  • One habit they want to change (e.g. tracking spending, cooking instead of takeaways)
Support as needed—offer real-life examples and help with maths if learners need it.

Section 4: Final Reflection & Goal-Setting – “One Change I’ll Try”
Ask learners to write down:

  • One thing they’ve learned
  • One small money change they’ll try in the next month
Invite volunteers to share (but optional). Reinforce that small steps matter.

Section 5: Group Sharing (Optional)
If the group is open and time allows, invite a few to share their plan or reflections.
Celebrate effort and honesty, not perfection.

Section 6: Evaluation & Certificates
Distribute course evaluation forms.
Thank learners for attending and completing the course. Hand out certificates of completion.

Section 7: Careers Reflection

Sam Brook is a Senior Agronomist at Vitacress. Sam discusses what he does in his role. What job within the horticultural industry might you be interested in exploring?
