An IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, organising, and overseeing technology projects within an organisation. This role involves working with teams of software developers, engineers, and other IT professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Day-to-day tasks can include developing project plans, managing budgets, scheduling meetings, communicating with stakeholders, and identifying and resolving any issues that arise during a project's lifecycle. IT Project Managers need strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills, as well as a good understanding of technology and business processes. Many enter the role after gaining experience in IT, software development, or business analysis, often backed by qualifications such as PRINCE2 or Agile certifications.
