Being a chocolatier is all about making delicious chocolate treats from scratch! It is much more than just melting chocolate. A chocolatier is an expert in chocolate, understanding different types, how to temper it (which makes it shiny and snappy), and how to create amazing flavours and designs. You might make beautiful chocolate bars, truffles, pralines, or even intricate chocolate sculptures for special occasions. It is a creative job that involves a lot of precision and patience. You will spend your time weighing ingredients, mixing, moulding, decorating, and packaging your creations. Chocolatiers often work in small independent shops, luxury hotels, or sometimes even for larger food companies. It is a role where you need to be very organised and have a good sense of taste and smell. You also need to keep your workspace very clean and follow food safety rules carefully. It is a rewarding job for anyone who loves working with their hands and bringing joy to people through delicious food.
