An archaeologist is someone who studies things left behind by people from long ago. They look for old objects, buildings, and even bones buried in the ground. Archaeologists carefully dig in special places called sites to discover how people lived in the past. They use tools like brushes and trowels to gently uncover items, and then they write about what they find to help others learn about history. Archaeologists often work outside on digs, but they also spend time in offices or museums, studying their discoveries and sharing their findings with the public. Their work helps us understand the stories of people who lived thousands of years ago in Britain and all around the world.
