A Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) Assistant supports the SENCo and teaching staff in helping pupils who have special educational needs or disabilities. This role involves working closely with children who require additional support, assisting with planning and delivering interventions, and helping to adapt classroom activities to suit individual learning requirements. SENCo Assistants may also help with administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and communicating with families or external agencies. The job requires patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills, as well as an understanding of the challenges faced by children with a range of needs.
