It requires patience, empathy, good communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others. Shifts can vary, including evenings and weekends, to ensure clients receive support at all times. Training is usually provided on the job, and there are opportunities to gain qualifications such as the Care Certificate or NVQs in Health and Social Care.
