A first look at our KS1 and KS2 History Curriculum

We’re pleased to show you a first look at our brand-new KS1 and KS2 History curriculum, coming soon to Developing Experts in 2026! 

Following the success of our progressive and sequenced Science and Geography Curricula, our History resources are designed to bring the past to life in every classroom. Your pupils will be able to make meaningful connections between historical periods, key figures and major events throughout history. 

Just like our other subjects, this curriculum will be fully aligned with the National Curriculum and will contain everything teachers need to deliver knowledge-rich lessons with confidence. Each unit will be complete with handouts, assessment materials, teacher guidance and more. 

What’s inside the curriculum 

Our KS1 and KS2 History curriculum explores a wide range of historical periods and themes and is designed to build knowledge and skills on a year-by-year basis. Here’s your first glance at our unit titles:

Try it for free 

Before the full curriculum launches in late 2026, teachers will be able to access three sample units for free. These will be Year 2 Castles, Year 3 Ancient Egypt and Year 5 Vikings in Britain. 

These sample units will give you an idea of what’s to come and will be ready to use in summer 2026.
