Our Year 5 Forces with Rolls Royce unit explores many different types of forces, enabling learners to have a wider understanding of the different natural and applied forces in existence. This unit is best taught with practical examples, where children are given the opportunity to test applied forces for themselves, but also study the theory behind natural forces. Once the children have understood these concepts, they can consider the impact that such forces have in industry and on our everyday lives. There are 7 lessons in this unit. If however, you wish to shorten the block to 6 lessons because lessons 5 and 6 cover the concept of drag, using one lesson on either air or water resistance.
