British Science Week 2024 Teaching Resources

What is British Science Week?

British Science Week is a national, themed event which takes place every year in March. It places a spotlight on science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), celebrating everything from new discoveries and advances to education and career paths. British Science Week is coordinated by the British Science Association and is taking place this year from the 8th to the 17th of March.

How is Developing Experts celebrating British Science Week?

Anyone is able to organise and run an event for British Science Week, so we are delighted to be able to take this opportunity to create more fun and engaging resources for our teachers. This year, we are running two live lessons; these will take place on Friday the 8th of March and be aligned with the theme of ‘Time’. Our wildlife expert, Mike Linley, will be running the show; throughout each lesson, he will be exploring the fascinating world of insects and narrating a series of activities for your class to complete. We are running two separate lessons - one for EYFS and KS1 and the other for KS2.

9.30am - Tick, tock, insects don't stop (EYFS & KS1)
11am - Mysteries of insect timekeeping (KS2)

Handouts and extra resources will be provided on our platform to accompany each lesson. These will be released on Friday the 16th of February.

To sign up for our live lessons, complete the registration form below. We can’t wait to see you there!
