The large gear has 20 teeth and the small gear has 10 teeth. As 20 is 10 x 2, then the small gear will turn 2 times every time the larger gear turns once. This arrangement also means that it would take twice as much force to rotate the large gear once than turning the small gear once; therefore, the smaller gear is easier to turn.
