The last picture shows Homo sapiens who lived from about 300,000 years ago to the present. They evolved from the Homo heidelbergensis. About 40,000 years ago, modern humans moved into Europe and Asia, where Neanderthals lived. Because of more competition for food and new diseases brought by modern humans, Neanderthals eventually became extinct.
