The Ancient Egyptians often wrote down stories about their gods, which helped Egyptians understand the world around them. A famous story is that of the goddess Isis and her husband, the god Osiris.

Osiris was a kind ruler but his jealous brother Set tricked and killed him. Isis, Osiris’s wife, searched all over Egypt to find him and used her magic to bring him back to life for a short time. Osiris and Isis had a son called Horus. When Horus grew up, he became a strong and brave god who defeated Set and brought peace back to Egypt.
